Deyanira (she/her) has worked for almost 25 years to promote cooperative and community-controlled finance, immigrants’ economic rights, and equitable neighborhood development. At New Economy Project, she has worked closely on community land trust, public banking, and financial justice campaigns, and helped launch the organisation’s community loan funds. Deyanira has trained community groups and policymakers, and authored reports and articles, on a range of fair lending and community development matters. She is a longtime board member of the LES People’s Federal Credit Union, a citywide financial cooperative serving historically redlined neighborhoods, and previously served on the boards of Inclusiv and New Immigrant Community Empowerment. She also served on the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Community Advisory Group. Deyanira has received the Frances Perkins Working People’s Award from Fiscal Policy Institute, the Mujeres Destacadas (Outstanding Women) award from El Diario/La Prensa, and the Revson Fellowship on the Future of the City of New York.

Sheila founded Care.com in 2006 after her personal challenges as a young working mother finding care for two small children and ailing parents shed a spotlight on the massive care needs of families everywhere. Today, the company is the world’s largest online destination for finding and managing family care, serving more than 31 million people across 20 countries.

Committed to building a company that can be both profitable and mission-based, Sheila continues to drive innovation across Care.com’s platforms and services to enable families to find care and caregivers to find meaningful work, while also leveraging the company’s data and reach to drive systemic change across the care economy as a whole.

Prior to founding Care.com, Sheila was an Entrepreneur in Residence at Matrix Partners and held executive positions at Upromise, helping families save for college and at executive search engine TheLadders.com. She sits on the Boards of Northwestern Mutual, Boston Children’s Hospital Board of Trustees, the U.S. Library of Congress Trust Fund, and the Philippine Development Foundation. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Massachusetts Competitive Partnership and advises numerous start-up companies. Sheila graduated from Mount Holyoke College and received her J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from Harvard University.

Sana Ali Mustafa is a movement leader in the forced displacement sector and a feminist human rights activist fighting against systems of oppression in Syria and around the world. Sana’s work has been informed by her experiences as a brown, queer, Arab, and forcibly displaced woman. After being forcibly displaced by the Assad regime, Sana led the establishment of global efforts for the representation and inclusion of forcibly displaced persons, such as the Global Refugee-led Network. Sana is currently Chief Executive Officer of Asylum Access, where she leads the organisation’s work to dismantle decades of colonialism, fight for self-representation, and build intersectional coalitions to demand human rights for all forcibly displaced people.

Prior to joining Asylum Access, Sana managed her own consulting business where she helped over a dozen public and private sector organisations such as Oxfam International, Open Society Foundations, United Nations, WeWork, and others to establish strategies to operate more equitably in support of refugee rights and refugee leadership.

Sana is also an active public speaker. She has delivered a TED talk and spoken at the United Nations headquarters in New York, the National Press Club in Washington, D.C, the Carnegie Endowment, the White House, Harvard Law School, Stanford, and numerous other venues.

Sana is a board member of Karam Foundation, which helps Syrian refugee youth in Turkey harness their ambition and creativity. Sana is also a member of Syria’s first Syrian Women’s Political Movement, a coalition with the aim of uniting women from across professional fields and ethnic lines to create a vision for women’s inclusion in a future Syria.

Jeri Rayon, founder of The Black Donors Project and the Art of Hip Hop Fund, is a seasoned arts administrator and nonprofit leader deeply committed to philanthropic activism and the arts.

As the executive director of Rennie Harris Puremovement, Jeri was a key member of an impactful team that contributed to elevating the pioneering Hip Hop concert dance company to the status of a cultural icon. Her leadership was rooted in strategic programming and guided by a vision anchored in principles of art and social justice.

Jeri’s work challenges the exclusion of Black communities from traditional philanthropic avenues. She employs a multi-layered approach to dismantle these barriers, aiming to recenter Black philanthropic giving as a force for economic redistribution and community betterment.

Jeri holds a BA in English and Communications from Cabrini University. She is also in the process of completing her Master’s degree in Media, Ethics and Social Change at the University of Sussex.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Jeri is developing an online course titled “The Broke Philanthropist.” This course serves as a practical guide to everyday philanthropy, emphasizing the potential for small donations to drive significant social change.

Her roles as a 2022-2023 Leaders of Color Fellow, a participant in the 2023 Social Justice Giving Project Cohort II, and a founding board member of Women of Color in the Arts further exemplify her commitment to social justice. Jeri has also been a grant panelist for various organisations, including SouthArts, Miami Cultural Affairs, The Map Fund, and YoungArts.

Lisa Sobrato Sonsini established the Sobrato Family Foundation in 1996 as a vehicle for multiple generations of the Sobrato family to unify their philanthropic giving for maximum impact. Under her leadership as Board President, SFF has grown tenfold in both assets and annual giving.

For over 25 years, Lisa has been a strong advocate for the rights of disadvantaged youth in both the educational and foster care systems. Lisa currently serves on the Boards of Directors for KQED, KIPP Bay Area Schools, Silicon Schools, Silicon Valley Children’s Fund and American Leadership Forum Silicon Valley.

Lisa received a B.A. in Communication Studies from UCLA and a J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law at UC Berkeley.

Eli Kasargod-Staub is the co-founder and executive director of Majority Action. He has worked at the intersection of corporate governance and corporate accountability for his entire career and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) designation. Previously he developed engagement strategy for Majority Action’s predecessor organisations 50/50 Climate Project and the Climate Majority Project, as well as led research and corporate governance initiatives at the Service Employees International Union and the Australian Council of Trade Unions.

Eli serves on the board of directors of Bend the Arc: A Jewish Partnership for Justice.

Rev. Dr. Starsky Wilson is president & CEO of the Children’s Defense Fund (CDF) and CDF Action Council. CDF envisions a nation where marginalized children flourish, leaders prioritize their well-being, and communities wield the power to ensure they thrive. Wilson is board chair for the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy (NCRP) and the Forum for Theological Exploration (FTE)

From 2011 through 2020, Rev. Wilson was president & CEO of Deaconess Foundation, a faith-based philanthropy for child well-being and racial justice in St. Louis. From 2008 through 2018, Dr. Wilson also pastored Saint John’s Church (The Beloved Community), a multiracial congregation in the city. Under his leadership, the foundation constructed and established the Deaconess Center for Child Well-Being, a community action tank engaging thousands of citizens annually. After the police killing of Michael Brown, Jr., the church hosted the #BlackLivesMatter Freedom Ride to Ferguson and other mobilizations.

Wilson was appointed co-chair of the Ferguson Commission, which released the ‘Forward Through Ferguson: A Path Toward Racial Equity’ Report, calling for sweeping changes in policing, the courts, child well-being and economic mobility in 2015. He currently serves boards for Duke Divinity School, the Samuel DeWitt Proctor Conference, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Dr. Wilson earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Xavier University of Louisiana, Master of Divinity from Eden Theological Seminary, and the Doctor of Ministry from Duke University. A member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, Starsky is married to Dr. LaToya Smith Wilson, a dentist and child advocate. They are raising four children.

Abigail E. Disney advocates for real changes to the way capitalism operates in today’s world. As a philanthropist and social activist, she has worked with organisations supporting peacebuilding, gender justice, and systemic cultural change. She is a documentary filmmaker who won an Emmy for “The Armor of Light.” Her latest film, “The American Dream and Other Fairy Tales,” which she co-directed with Kathleen Hughes, made its world premiere at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival. The film screened in select theaters and is available on-demand. In Season 4 of the podcast “All Ears,” Abigail used the film as a jumping-off point to ask big-thinking business leaders, union organizers, economists, and others how they would fix our broken economy.
She is also Chair and Co-Founder of Level Forward, an ecosystem of storytellers, entrepreneurs, and social change-makers dedicated to balancing artistic vision, social impact, and stakeholder return. She also created the nonprofit Peace is Loud, which uses storytelling to advance social movements and the Daphne Foundation, which supports organisations working for a more equitable, fair and peaceful New York City.
