The 2020 election cycle demonstrated the need to expect the unexpected, and prepare in advance for potential election-related crises. This month, DAL will feature Melissa Spatz, Co-Executive Director of the Trusted Elections Fund (TEF), a national nonpartisan pooled fund that supports efforts to prepare for and respond to high-risk threats to U.S. elections, and Serena Sebring, Executive Director of Blueprint North Carolina, a grassroots partner. We will explore the intricacies of preparing for the unforeseen, focusing on the unique role that state-level grassroots organizations can play in responding to whatever election-related crises may arise.

In Democracy Action Lab, we ask: What strategies and interventions will contribute to the long-term vitality of liberal democracy in the United States and around the world? In every session, we combine conversation with peers, deep dive learning with leaders from the field, and interactive discussion to operationalize learning into action.

We will have 15-minute pre-session “office hours” at 9:45am PDT | 12:45pm EDT open to anyone interested in joining early to ask specific democracy-related questions of our facilitators and/or TPW peers (or simply to say hello). Questions? Contact Jocelyn Berger, Engagement Manager – Americas East:
