Join us to explore emerging responses to democratic backsliding and authoritarian entrenchment in the United States. In this session, leaders of a new democracy protection venture studio will guide participants in grappling with evolving threats through a concrete, triage approach.
Have you considered what might happen if a national emergency were declared to postpone elections? Or if by 2028 the judicial branch could no longer effectively check executive power? What if, in that climate, security forces such as ICE were deployed to suppress protests?
By blending research, incubation, and grantmaking, the organization identifies, tests, and scales the most effective responses to the greatest threats facing U.S. democracy. Their iterative model begins with listening, moves to experimentation, and culminates in piloting and scaling high-potential interventions.
