Inspired by visionary leaders and groundbreaking models from Fedi and Wildlife Conservation Network, this immersive Journey invites participants to rethink global solidarity, harness innovative technology for community empowerment, and champion community-led solutions that shift power to the Global South. Through transformative safari experiences and meaningful community connections, travelers leave energized, collaborative, and committed to accelerating lasting social change.

October 17 (Optional) – Arrive in Nairobi
Early arrivals are welcomed with private transfers and a relaxed evening to settle in at Hermosa Garden.

October 18 – Welcome to Kenya
Arrive or wake up in Nairobi and connect with fellow travelers. Over dinner, we’ll begin to frame the week ahead—an exploration of how new, community-led models are reshaping what global partnership can look like.

October 19 – Kibera & Community Innovation
Step into Kibera alongside partners from Fedi, meeting local leaders using technology to strengthen economic agency and advance true community ownership in complex environments. Continue into the highlands for an evening at a private mobile camp in the Aberdares.

October 20 – Energy & Enterprise
Visit a decentralized hydro project with Gridless, where energy, infrastructure, and community ownership come together in practical, scalable ways. Continue to Nanyuki at the base of Mount Kenya.

October 21 – Conservation in Action
Spend the day in Ol Pejeta Conservancy, including its renowned rhino sanctuary. Through partners connected to Wildlife Conservation Network, explore how conservation can create durable value for both ecosystems and the communities who own and steward them.

October 22 – Into Samburu
Journey north to Samburu—one of Kenya’s most striking and less-traveled ecosystems. Arrive in time for an afternoon game drive.

October 23 – Wildlife & Community Stewardship
Game drives paired with visits to conservation initiatives protecting endangered species and advancing locally led models grounded in long-term sustainability and community ownership.

October 24 – Elephants & Ecosystems
Spend time with frontline conservation leaders, including those working to protect elephants and critical habitats. Close with a final Boma dinner—space to reflect on what you’ve seen, and what it might mean for your own work.

October 25 – Onward Travel
Fly back to Nairobi for international departures or additional travel.

This Journey is for travelers who want to discover bold, community-led solutions in tech and conservation—and leave inspired, connected, and ready to take action.

Fedi runs a community-focused Bitcoin wallet app that is empowering local communities with “freedom technology.” Led by Forward Global Member Obi Nwosu.

Wildlife Conservation Network (WCN) is a global leader in community-driven conservation, partnering directly with frontline leaders to protect endangered wildlife and wild places. Led by Forward Global Member Charlie Knowles.

The price is $15,000 USD. The Journey cost is inclusive of all hotels, meals, safari excursions, and internal travel. It does not include the price of international flights or visas.

Please arrive by October 18th in Nairobi. The Journey will conclude the morning of October 25th with a transfer to Nairobi.
