Family Table Action Lab
Do you want more of those rare, validating, and insightful conversations you’ve serendipitously had with a peer – perhaps at an intimate dinner or at a side event – about highly practical and personal family topics? That’s what The Family Table is all about; cultivating conversations that are deeply important and difficult to have elsewhere.
We recognize that there are few consistent places where members feel comfortable discussing the roadblocks, and personal and strategic questions that arise when navigating complex family dynamics, especially related to the transition of wealth and impact-oriented philanthropy. The Family Table is designed to be just that—an open, trusted space for peers who are working with or wanting to engage family thoughtfully around these often challenging issues.
Sessions cover topics with experts and tools you can use, and also provide workshop time with peers to get practical advice. The group explores such topics as earned vs. inherited wealth, power dynamics at the family table, transparency between generations, and more. Building on Forward Global’s culture of trust and community, the Family Table offers the ideal space to work through challenges in real-time, learn from others’ experiences, and share what’s working in your own family.
The Family Table is designed to provide the necessary tools, consistent touch points, and peer community to help you navigate the complexities of family, wealth, and philanthropy. The group meets monthly, including alternating topical sessions with experts and workshopping sessions with peers.
If you are a member of a philanthropic family, are striving to integrate values, mission, and impact, and are interested in connecting with peers and learning from experts about how to better navigate family dynamics, this group has been designed for you.
Members are welcome to drop in whenever it suits. If you have family members who are interested in joining, please let us know. We’d love to include them.
