Next Gen Action Lab
As a next gen inheritor, there are certain sensitive topics—both personal and strategic—that you can only discuss with peers in a place of shared understanding. The Next Gen Action Lab offers just that—a space to dive into personal conversations about identity and wealth with fellow next gens, where you can take an action-oriented approach and support others to do the same.
The Next Gen Action Lab convenes a group of impact-minded next gens who are eager to learn, set actionable goals, and support each other in being effective leaders within their families and reimagining the social impact sector. We created this group because next gens in our community wanted a dedicated space to dig into specific issues and tools that are best explored with peers.
Delivered in partnership with multigenerational engagement experts 21/64, the group meets to discuss various issues, including building influence and leadership skills, connecting wealth and privilege to purpose and impact, navigating family dynamics, centering equity and shifting mindsets in the sector, and exploring integrated approaches to impact, from philanthropy and impact investing to advocacy and everything in between. Members often describe the space as “validating” and value the provided tools and time with peers to take informed, productive steps forward.
The group meets multiple times during the year with in-person and virtual opportunities As a member, you can choose to attend those that best suit your schedule, and also stay connected with the group via the listserv and Whatsapp group. Every year, the group convenes before the Forward Global Summit (which we strongly encourage participating in as an annual touch point and opportunity to meet and workshop challenges with your peers). Our goal is to provide the space you need to have conversations you can’t have anywhere else and gain tools and perspectives that support you personally and professionally.
If you are a next gen inheritor, 45 years old or younger, and are interested in connecting with peers who are asking similar questions about family, impact, role, and life, this is a great group to join. Members can join the group at any time. While participating consistently has its benefits, we also understand that life often gets in the way. Join for what you can and we ask that you show up with an open mind, willing to talk about what brings you joy and energy, as well as the tough stuff.
